From Questioning to Believing: Your Journey with Jesus †

1. The Moment of Realization

Many people start their spiritual journey by realizing something is missing in life. You might feel emptiness, guilt, or a longing for peace that nothing else seems to satisfy. That’s the Holy Spirit gently stirring your heart toward Jesus.

“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” – John 3:16 (NIV)

This moment is your invitation to believe—recognizing that Jesus is the way to true life and freedom from sin.

2. Accepting Jesus Into Your Life

Becoming a believer starts with a simple but life-changing decision: acknowledging your sin, believing Jesus died and rose again, and surrendering your life to Him as Lord.

“If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” – Romans 10:9 (NIV)

Salvation is not about being perfect. It’s about trusting the One who is perfect.

3. Pray the Believer’s Prayer

If you are ready to follow Jesus, you can pray something like this from your heart:

“Jesus, I know that I am a sinner, and I ask for Your forgiveness. I believe You died for my sins and rose from the dead. I turn from my old life and invite You into my life as my Lord and Savior. Teach me to follow You. Amen.”

“Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” – Romans 10:13 (NIV)

If you prayed this sincerely, welcome to the family of God. This is the beginning of new life.

4. Baptism: Your Public Declaration

After accepting Jesus, baptism is your next step. Baptism is a public declaration that your old life is gone and you now belong to Christ. It symbolizes being buried with Him and raised to new life.

“Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins.” – Acts 2:38 (NIV)

“We were therefore buried with Him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead… we too may live a new life.” – Romans 6:4 (NIV)

At MN Revival, we would love to help make your baptism a reality. If you are ready to take this step, contact us, and we will walk with you and celebrate this powerful moment together.

5. Living Out Your Faith

Following Jesus changes you from the inside out. When you truly love Him, your life begins to reflect Him. This isn’t forced — it flows naturally from your relationship with Him.

The Bible calls this “fruit.”

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.” – Galatians 5:22–23 (NIV)

As you walk with Jesus, these qualities begin to grow in your life. You’ll begin to forgive more, love deeper, serve others, and live differently.

“Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” – Matthew 5:16 (NIV)

Good works don’t save you — Jesus does. But good works naturally flow from loving Him.

6. Step Into a Church Community

After accepting Jesus, it is essential to step into a local church. Christianity was never meant to be lived alone. You need teaching, encouragement, accountability, and community.

“Let us not give up meeting together… but encouraging one another.” – Hebrews 10:25 (NIV)

At MN Revival, we strongly encourage you to get connected to a Bible-believing church. Two great churches in Minnesota are:

  • Eagle Brook Church – Known for strong biblical teaching, powerful worship, and welcoming community.

  • The Grove Church – A local Maple Grove church focused on discipleship, relationships, and growing in Christ.

Plug in. Join a small group. Serve. Grow.

Your faith will flourish in community.

7. Your Next Steps

  • Keep praying daily

  • Read the Bible (start with the book of John)

  • Get baptized

  • Join a local church

  • Surround yourself with other believers

  • Look for ways to serve those around you

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart… and He will make your paths straight.” – Proverbs 3:5–6 (NIV)

Your journey with Jesus has just begun. And it is the greatest decision you will ever make.

8. Something Extra: Grow Strong in Your Faith

Now that you’ve said yes to Jesus, here are some practical next steps to help you grow.

📖 Get a Bible

If you don’t already have one, getting a Bible is one of the most important steps you can take.

Some Bible translations we love:

  • NLT (New Living Translation) – very easy to read and understand

  • ESV (English Standard Version) – accurate and great for deeper study

  • NKJV (New King James Version) – classic and strong word-for-word translation

At the end of the day, the best Bible to read is the one you will actually understand and stay consistent with.

If you can’t afford a Bible or you’re looking for one, MN Revival would be honored to get you one. Just email us — we would love to bless you.

“Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.” – Psalm 119:105 (NIV)
